Our 2024 Donations - 1% for the Planet
At Liinks, we believe that doing good goes beyond the digital space. That’s why we’re thrilled to be members of 1% for the Planet, committing 1% of our annual revenue to organizations that make a tangible impact on our environment and communities.
For 2024, we’re focusing our support on three incredible New York-based organizations: Scenic Hudson, GrowNYC, and City Harvest. These groups are leading transformative efforts right here in our backyard, and we’re proud to partner with them.
Scenic Hudson: Protecting the Hudson River Valley
Scenic Hudson is dedicated to safeguarding the beauty, ecological health, and communities of the Hudson River Valley. Through land conservation, advocacy, and environmental protection, they ensure that the region’s breathtaking landscapes and vital ecosystems remain preserved for generations to come. Their work includes:
- Protecting over 46,000 acres of farmland, forests, and parks.
- Restoring wetlands and natural habitats critical for wildlife.
- Advocating for policies that combat climate change and protect water quality.
As lovers of nature and open spaces, we’re inspired by their commitment to keeping the Hudson Valley a place of natural wonder and resilience.
GrowNYC: Empowering Sustainable Living
For over 50 years, GrowNYC has been helping New Yorkers make sustainable choices in their daily lives. From farmers’ markets to composting programs and urban gardens, GrowNYC empowers individuals and communities to live greener, healthier lives. Highlights of their work include:
- Operating 50+ Greenmarkets across NYC, connecting farmers with consumers.
- Building and supporting community gardens in underserved neighborhoods.
- Offering recycling and education programs to reduce waste and promote sustainability.
Their grassroots approach to sustainability resonates with our belief in creating positive change, one small step at a time.
City Harvest: Fighting Hunger, Reducing Food Waste
City Harvest has been rescuing surplus food and delivering it to New Yorkers in need since 1982. As the city’s first and largest food rescue organization, they tackle food insecurity while combating food waste. Their impact is undeniable:
- Rescuing and redistributing more than 75 million pounds of food annually.
- Feeding over 1.5 million New Yorkers each year.
- Working with hundreds of community programs to ensure food reaches those who need it most.
Their mission is especially important in a city as vibrant and diverse as New York, where food insecurity is still a significant challenge. Supporting City Harvest aligns with our values of community and sustainability.
Why These Organizations?
Each of these organizations represents a pillar of the change we want to see: environmental conservation, sustainable living, and community care. Being based in New York ourselves, we’re especially excited to support these local organizations and contribute to a future where natural beauty is preserved, sustainable choices are accessible, and no one goes hungry.
